I will be checking personal statements and providing comprehensive feedback for UK medical school applicants for 2023 entry.

What to expect from a review.

Each personal statement will be looked through thoroughly and detailed comment boxes added suggesting points for improvement in as many places as possible. This takes on average 2 hours per personal statement. You will also be given feedback at the end on overall impression.

I do recommend that you use the Personal Statement Planner I have designed prior to submitting your personal statement for review. This will ensure you've put in all the key components a Medicine personal statement requires whilst also avoiding the common pitfalls, making your feedback more relevant.

How it works

1. Once you’ve completed your personal statement save it as a word document, using your name as the file name.
2. Make sure the character count is not significantly greater than the UCAS character limit - I can help with cutting down a little, but you should use the 30+ tips listed in my planner to try cutting it down by yourself first.
3. Upload your personal statement using the upload function and follow through the checkout to complete your submission.
4. I will review your personal statement and return it to you within 5 days of submission using the email address you provided at the checkout.
5. The feedback will include comments throughout and an overall impression - the number of comments will vary between each personal statement.
6. If you would like a re-review, you will have to follow the above steps, re-uploading your new draft.
